Diamagnetically levitating resonant weighing scale

Diamagnetic levitation offers stable confinement of an object from its environment at zero power, and thus is a promising technique for developing next generation unclamped resonant sensors. In this work, we realize weighing scale using graphite plate that diamagnetically levitating over checkerboard arrangement permanent magnets. We characterize the bending vibrations laser Doppler vibrometry use microgram glass beads to calibrate responsivity sensor's resonance frequency mass changes. The sensor used real-time measurement evaporation rate nano-litre droplets with high-accuracy. By analyzing resonator's stability, show millimeter can reach resolutions down 4.0 ng, relevant biological chemical sensing concepts.
